The Heero Collection
Named in honor of the dynasty’s pioneering bellfounders, this inaugural wristwatch embodies the Van Bergen philosophy: where heritage meets innovation, where craft transcends time. Each watch carries within it the DNA of 185 years of bell founding excellence.
THE SIGNATURE
Half-hour sonnerie au passage
Not merely a complication — the essence of Van Bergen’s identity. An automatic chime every half-hour, inspired by 185 years of bell-making expertise. Unlike a minute repeater which sounds on demand, the sonnerie au passage marks time unprompted, just as our ancestors’ bells marked the rhythm of daily life for generations.
Acoustic heritage
The same formulas that tuned 72-bell carillons now govern the striking mechanism’s voice.
Automatic chime
Every half hour, unprompted – marking time as bells have done for Van Bergen clients since 1795.
Engineered for sound
Case architecture designed as an acoustic chamber, amplifying and enriching the sonnerie.
The Van Bergen checkerboard dial
The inaugural Heero timepiece features a distinctive checkerboard dial pattern. This isn’t decoration – it’s the mathematical grid both Heero (shipbuilding) and Andries (bell-casting) used in their work.
The grid that ensured every ship part fit perfectly. The grid that calculated the harmonic ratios for perfectly tuned bells. The grid that represents the Van Bergen family’s 230-year commitment to mathematical precision.
When you see the checkerboard, you’re seeing the Van Bergen methodology:
Precision as identity. Measurement as art. Mathematics as heritage.
