We are incredibly proud to introduce Erik Meijer, our Chief Executive Officer! Erik brings a distinguished background and extensive expertise from the luxury timepiece and retail sectors, making him an invaluable leader for Van Bergen 1795.

Erik was the Chief Executive Officer, Co-Founder, and Co-Owner of Montres Otium SA, a prestigious Swiss company specializing in the development and design of exceptionally rare haute horlogerie timepieces that fuse traditional craftsmanship with the latest innovations and state-of-the-art technologies.
He was responsible for the complete design and development , from initial concept through final execution. he managed the strategic sourcing of suppliers and maintained comprehensive control over all operational budgets..
His entrepreneurial spirit is also evident from his role as Co-Founder and Co-Owner of Aegler SA. During the initial start-up phase, Erik took on the CEO role, where he spearheaded the company’s rapid establishment. Within just eight months, they set up the company, designed their first watch and movement, and successfully pre-launched the brand during Geneva Watch Days in September 2022.
Until mid-2022, Erik served as the CEO, Co-Founder, and Co-Owner of the award-winning watch retailer Time Zone, recognized as Thailand’s Leading Independent Watch Specialist. Under his leadership, Time Zone showcased over 16 brands across several boutiques in Bangkok, earning the prestigious Robb Report “Best of the Best” Award in the Luxury Watch Retailer category in December 2021.
Simultaneously Erik was the CEO of Narcissus Group, the official and exclusive representative of Philipp Plein in Thailand, overseeing a prominent 198 square meter boutique at ICONSIAM in Bangkok.
Between 2010 and 2017, Erik was instrumental in introducing several high-end luxury brands to the UK Market. He represented various luxury brands, from chocolates to watches, collaborating with esteemed partners such as Formula One Teams, Polo Clubs, Watch Manufacturers, Distilleries, Luxury Retailers, and Financial Institutions.
Noteworthy Accomplishments
Erik’s career is marked by remarkable achievements, including:
- In October 2011, he successfully orchestrated the sale of the Sahara Force India Art Car by Dexter Brown at a charity auction. Commissioned by Erik in spring 2011, the car sold for £168,000, benefiting Great Ormond Street Hospital.
- In June 2010, at the prize-giving ceremony of the 50th Queen’s Cup at Guards Polo, Erik had the distinct honor of presenting Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II with a specially designed 18-carat white gold watch, adorned with 461 diamonds totaling 4.38 carats.
