The Heero Collection
For over two centuries, Van Bergen cast time in bells, tower clocks and carillons across the world. Now, that precision finds expression in haute horlogerie. The journey from foundry to wrist culminates with our inaugural wristwatch.
Launching 6-10 May 2026 at Top Marques Monaco
The Heero collection
Honoring the father who began our legacy
In 1738, Heero Andries van Bergen established his Northern German shipbuilding workshop on a principle that would define eight generations: precision isn’t a luxury – it’s survival. Where other craftsmen accepted approximation, Heero understood that in shipbuilding, a single miscalculation meant the difference between safe passage and catastrophe.
His son, Andries Heeres van Bergen (born 1768), inherited not just the workshop but the obsession with mathematical precision. In 1795, Andries transformed his father’s principles from wood into bronze, establishing the bell foundry that would bear the family name for 185 years. The same exacting standards that kept ships afloat now kept time itself.
The Heero Collection – our inaugural wristwatch – honors not the son who founded our bell-making legacy, but the father whose uncompromising standards made it possible. It is named for the man who first understood that precision isn’t what you do – it’s who you are.
The Van Bergen checkerboard dial
The inaugural Heero timepiece features a distinctive checkerboard dial pattern. This isn’t decoration – it’s the mathematical grid both Heero (shipbuilding) and Andries (bell-casting) used in their work.
The grid that ensured every ship part fit perfectly. The grid that calculated the harmonic ratios for perfectly tuned bells. The grid that represents the Van Bergen family’s 230-year commitment to mathematical precision.
When you see the checkerboard, you’re seeing the Van Bergen methodology:
Precision as identity. Measurement as art. Mathematics as heritage.

The soul of every Van Bergen
The half-hour sonnerie au passage
The inaugural Heero timepiece features a distinctive checkerboard dial pattern. This isn’t decoration – it’s the mathematical grid both Heero (shipbuilding) and Andries (bell-casting) used in their work.
The half-hour sonnerie au passage is not merely a complication – it is the essence of Van Bergen’s identity. This striking mechanism automatically chimes every half-hour, connecting the wearer to 230 years of acoustic craftsmanship.
Our in-house developed sonnerie draws direct inspiration from the tonal characteristics of Van Bergen carillon bells, creating a sound signature unlike any other in haute horlogerie.
